Refurbish your photo albums

Going through old photos I realize that there are some that take up room that I would like digitalized. I had this photo taken by my uncle in my back yard while I lived in Sioux Falls, SD. The picture, if you look at the bottom, has yellowed and was stuck to the glass due to it not being framed correctly. If I pulled on the picture it would have been ruined.

So I am able to scan the image in at a larger dpi and now can have it reprinted at a larger corrected size than the original. If you have old images needing to be saved, digitally stored, you were married before the digital revolution, wanting a cool anniversary gift, or just wanting to do get organized and do something with all the family photos, let me change those old albums to a flash drive or CD to store on your computer. I am taking on personal projects and will be quoting prices based on # of pics or amount of restoration needing to be completed on the photos.

Tough Mudder

Tough Mudder is a 10 mile obstacle race that provides 26 different challenges ranging from fields of fire to 10,000 volt wires the competitor has to run through. It was a long day of shooting, 7.5 hours and 3,500 images. It is tied in with the wounded warriors project. All the competitors where great to be around. Its a difficult race, there ended up being a broken neck, femur, collar bone among many other injuries.

I should have warned you about this image, I'm sure you got a little nervous seeing this jump out at you. What your looking at is raw undefeated midget football power (posing in my trailer park). The Elks football team won two championships while I danced around the field in my super sized spectacles and matching pacifier style mouthpiece. You can't teach that type of style.

So yesterday I shot 3,527 photos in 7.5 hours for a photography company and I have nothing to show for it besides a paycheck in the mail in the next few weeks hopefully. The event was a blast and some of the photos are going to be awesome. I will try and get some posted after I can track them down through the site since I loose all ownership. For now Drake will have to step in.

Alaska bear series

This was the second mother and cub that I came across in Alaska. The first time was a mother with two older cubs. The mother later that year was shot and one of the cubs was shot in the foot.

These photos were taken upstream of the Russian. It looked as though school was in session that day as mom hunted and the cub watched how it was done, while getting the scraps afterwards.

I have over 2000 images in my Alaska folder that I have got to go through. Im feeling they are a bit outdated and I need to make another trip up there. I see so many missed shots already due to not doing things correct or taking advantage of the time while up there.

Well its been a long weekend of transferring over my photo library from PC to Mac, getting organized, getting distracted with old images and learning to use PS better. Many youtube instructional videos and I feel Im starting to get a grasp of it. I even had time to take some shots of my reluctant model. 5 dog treats later and i have a set. got to love cheap help.

Tucker at Angostora Lake before the ice melted off all the way. He is 2 years old in this photo. The ducks were flying and the field was full of geese behind me. Its been a long time since I was in Schepps Canyon and have never stayed in a cabin while there before.

My folks were both Chicago born. They blazed their paths from big city to open prairie. Taking up residence for a while in Georgetown, Colorado with friends and later working the mines in Ely, Minnesota where they started a family. They later made their way to South Dakota where they worked a number of jobs and raised three boys camping, hunting, and fishing in the Black Hills and prairie.

I got the new Pocket wizards for the camera. Allows alot more freedom with the flash. I am planning on testing it out in the field in the coming months, but for now to the basement!

Every Christmas the local pet store carries these enormous dog bones. The first year I laughed at the idea. This year, Tucker got a surprise. It was too heavy for him to carry, so I decided to take the saw to it. Now in 8 different sections, this is the longest lasting bone in the world.
